Redecorating the Blog

Oh.

Maybe you thought from the header that I'd finally decided to get rid of all the PINK???

Nah!

Maybe someday, but in the meantime. . .

I've run through my blog list and made some additions and subtractions.

I gave Fighting Foreclosure--Getting Nine Hundred nine months to start posting again but it was not to be. I hate it when some of my favorite bloggers fall off the face of the blogosphere, but I can't keep clicking on their site forever.

Tony Cassise died. Though his blog remains online, I'm removing it from my list. It was a pleasure to have known him, even if only via the internet.

The young veteran and newly minted CPA at "$647,000 in Debt" has taken his blog private, having encountered real-life consequences to the airing of his financial information. That's one of the unfortunate hazards of blogging, but I will continue to wish him well as he recovers from the pre-recession euphoria and gets himself on a stable financial footing.

I'm going to hang onto Oh, My Aching Debts" for another couple of months. Ditto Betty at ""Bouncing Back from Bankruptcy" who assures her faithful readers she will be blogging again--This reader is waiting most impatiently.

I've added some new blogs, most of them related to retirement, like the view from Australia in "Towards Retirement With Debt," and Texas with Frugal Texas Gal.

Then there's "Grumpy Rumblings of the Untenured" wherein Nicole or Maggie or both wax eloquent on various topics. It is certainly NOT a retirement blog, nor exactly a financial blog though both topics come up. As do shoes, academic cheating, science fiction and whatever is on these two academics' minds. Plus, of course, they are prone to leaving comments on MY blog.

If you have seen some blogs (or are the author of some blogs) that I should know about, let me know.

For the record I love PINK. Pink rules and your pink blog rocks! I think everyone should share their pink stories!!

As a young child (40+ years ago) my grandmother painted her bathroom walls pink because I loved the color, and eventually they added a pink toilet, tub and sinks. Now that's one awesome grandma, eh?

Pink used to be a BOY color (because it was closely associated with the regal and powerful red color), and it's coming back in fashion - my middle school son and his friends all like wearing pink shirts (remind you any of the Miami 80's? lol).

When I 'grew up' I thought pink was only for little girls and for overly done romantic Victorian decor. Lately I've begun adding it back into both my home and my wardrobe. It adds a vibrant joy to everything. And, bonus, it's one of the few shades that looks good on any woman.

Sorry I can't comment on the rest or your post, I didn't get past he pink sentences. LOL

Love your blog Ms. Grace, thank you for writing it. Love to both shake my head at some of your choices and to cheer for others, love that you are honest and willing to share, and I truly look forward to learning how your life and finances unfold.

Not sure I've ever commented before, funny it took pink to bring me out of lurkdome.

Hah! I knew PINK was the right choice--glad it brought out a comment from you. I'm learning as I go--maybe you'll have less to shake your head at next year. We'll see.

Yay! We made your blogroll! A goal, you know, that we have had since we started. ;) One step closer to being famous on the internet. :)

There is a series of adventures in Retirement saving, but that's mainly about trying to get Ing to relinquish funds to Fidelity. And still in process...

I have this one blog friend who haven't updated her blog since... 2008. And I still click on it every once in a while. She told me some sad health news right before she disappeared, so I keep hoping (in vain) that at least she'll post an update on the blog and say she's okay.

When I was a kid, I hated pink. When my daughter was born, I swore I wouldn't dress her in pink.

But you know what....I learned to love pink, and it is now one of my favorite colors to wear!

Of course, Grace still has much too much debt and not enough in her retirement funds.I managed to stick to my Christmas budget so I also managed some minor debt reduction during December.

Lisa--I've been reading your blog for awhile. I have no idea why it took me so long to put you on my blogroll.

Judith--I just read my way through your blog. Whew! Don't know how I missed it, but clearly it, too, belongs on my blogroll.

I'm rocking a pink colour scheme too and I love it...often think about changing it, but never do!

I often wonder how Dawn at Fighting Foreclosure is getting on, she must have her reasons, but I removed her from my blogroll too

Thanks for updating your blogroll. So many bloggers don't. I feel like I've lost a friend when one of my favorite bloggers disappears. Where is MMND, for example?
