What bugs me now is that she clearly lives in Glover Park, which is also a desirable neighborhood, but my boyfriend and I were SHOCKED at the renovations she did on her home. The fact that she didn't have much equity baffled us. We figured that maybe she took out money to pay for her daughter's education and to live the fat life for a while because to buy her home for less than $500K and still owe $750K on it was kind of insane for all the work she put into it.mapgirlhttp://www.mapgirl.net/mfcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601819916630680133.post-14243333084077781112009-09-01T08:09:45.310-07:002009-09-01T08:09:45.310-07:00Excellent rep, Grace! If it's still worth that amount (which I doubt), we're not under water yet, but just about even.

But I wouldn't EVER consider paying even $100,000 for this house/land in the state it is in now. I do get kind of disgusted when I see a house that's basically falling apart, and the price in the paper is more than it would cost to build an all-new house....oh--and we have a fireplace, too.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13675829827137657056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601819916630680133.post-8415906557929390982009-08-18T05:51:44.077-07:002009-08-18T05:51:44.077-07:00Snarky? So while I watch the program, I look up the public records on the property to figure out everything, cross check it with Zillow and Google Maps just for a laugh.

I have not seen this 'Georgetown' episode, but I have to admit it was a heck of a lot easier telling people that I lived in Georgetown than 'Foxhall Village' because it was so close. (Literally a few blocks from the Georgetown hospital.) So don't be so hard on her. The producers might have encouraged her to say that so out-of-towners have some idea that she lives towards the western part of the city with good access to Fairfax County, etc.mapgirlhttp://www.mapgirl.net/mfcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601819916630680133.post-85750367522653442152009-08-15T23:20:41.283-07:002009-08-15T23:20:41.283-07:00Heh, heh, heh. However, in a couple of cases, the seller was more right than Aubrey was. As a successful agent, he thinks of getting the property sold quickly. If you have a desirable property, sometimes even in this market you can ask for and get a little more.Another Readernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601819916630680133.post-90744736597712226222009-08-14T13:02:07.492-07:002009-08-14T13:02:07.492-07:00I watch the real estate market in my area and I of...I watch the real estate market in my area and I often see delusional listings.
